9 week old feeding pattern

Hi all

FTM here. My 9 week old is 90% breast fed, occasional bottle if my husband is on duty and I’m sleep.

My ds has started to want 5 or so minutes of milk before a nap. He used to just drink every 2 hours for 15_25 mins. This restless feed is I think just comfort, not hunger. I don’t mind at all if that’s what he needs I’m not trying to put him in a routine. Just wondering if that’s normal? Would bottle feed babies get a drink to help them sleep too ? This is daytime naps of course not night

Thanks

Let baby feed. They know what they are doing. Small feeds can be part of helping to boost supply. It's also incredibly hot at the moment so baby will want quick thirst quenching feeds.

Feeding is comforting and it releases hormones in both you and baby to help you both sleep. The advice for both bf and ff babies is to feed on demand.

I have to say for a 9 week old he sounds like an efficient feeder. You both must be doing well with breast feeding.
