I don't recognise my body!

I'm 3 months postpartum and I am absolutely astonished at how different my body looks since before pregnancy.
I'm 3lbs over my pre pregnancy weight (something I'm happy about) but it's like my entire shape has changed.
I still have this round ball on my lower front like I'm still pregnant. It's muscular and solid, not jiggly and lardy so I don't even know what that's about. My hips have changed shape, what was once a little pear shaped is now rather... rounded. My feet are bigger. My boobs sag.
I'm 8st6 whereas before I was 8st3, so it's not entirely down to weight gain, surely? I'm short too so it's almost like I'm carrying my weight totally different to before.

Did anyone else experience similar after pregnancy?

I feel sad looking at myself in the mirror. I have always had a very low opinion of my looks and it's like it's on steroids seeing my preggo looking belly and these thighs that kind of jut out alarmingly.

Thank you ladies x

Yeah there are some things that are never going to go back where they used to be before pregnancy 🤣

One plus though is I was an A cup before and now I'm a D!!

My hips seem to have grown another set of hips on the back of them though 🤷‍♀️ although to be fair I havent tried reeeeally hard to get my shape back - 4 years on my DD still doesn't sleep through the night and I'm too exhausted plus now I'm pregnant with twins so I feel like there is no way back for my body after this one! 🤣

I found most of it actually went back to the way it was - it just took some time. 3 months postpartum is very early days. Give yourself some time. It might also take a bit of work (in my experience - gym etc.).

Unfortunately my feet never shrunk back!!

It's so soon, you have done so well and it should improve. I think I'm broader than before though, and my feet yes they grew wider.

at the same weight postpartum (which took about 9 months to get to) my hips were wide, boobs were saggier, and I was left with a bit of an overhanging skin on tummy

Also more grey hair and bags under my eyes

You may find it settles over time and the changes won’t be so pronounced. You only had a baby 3 months ago. I think you need to give it about a year. I was a similar weight and my hips have remained wider. Like the PP, my boobs got bigger and stayed bigger. I went from 32C to 32E permanently.

Yes, DS was huge and my rib cage never returned to its previous size. I could almost feel it creaking apart in late pregnancy.

9 months up, 9 months down. But you may never be exactly the same. Your whole life has changed, you’re altered as a person.

I’ve found that I look fatter at the same weight after pregnancy. Previously my tummy was firm and it looked ok. Now however, my tummy is a different shape and looks bad despite me being the exact same weight. If I want to look ok I need to maintain a lower weight than before.
