Baby thinks bedtime is another nap...

My 7 month old goes to bed fine, good routine etc, but he always wakes up after 30 - 45 mins, I have to resettle, and then he sleeps a good chunk... It's like he thinks bedtime is another nap. I understand its because of his sleep cycles and not being able to self soothe, but, if I go in after say 20 minutes and gently rouse him awake a little, will this prevent him waking? I read somewhere about this but never tried. Anyone any experience of doing this?

My baby used to do this but it was because he was hungry. I upped the bedtime bottle and it seemed to sort it out.

What’s the nap schedule?

Waking after one sleep cycle (Approx 40 mins) after bedtime sounds like classic overtiredness. I would guess that the gap between the last nap and bedtime is too big and either a third catnap around 4.30/5pm or an earlier bedtime should help.
