Toddler licked metal bar at playground

Is it just a wait and see situation or is there anything I should be doing about Covid?

I don’t know why she did it but obviously didn’t expect her to! Any reassuring stories or info please share lol!

Wait and see. Toddlers lick stuff. And eat stuff. Toddlers are pretty grim really.

You don’t get covid by ingesting it. Just wash her hands.

I’m finding this out now haha! Is it very likely? Should I think about isolating? Am I thinking too much!

She’s always been fit at hand washing, not putting stuff in her mouth generally etc

I really wouldn't worry but just look out for symptoms as normal. And I lost track of the number of times I said 'don't lick the windows, the dog, your brother, the pub table...'

Don't overthink it. Toddler will be fine. If every parent isolated their families because their toddler had licked something then nobody would ever go anywhere.

I really wouldn’t worry too much; the likelihood of contracting Covid in that way is very slim. My toddler has almost definitely done similar recently and at nursery they’re always doing things like that.

Yes.

There's not that much CV in the community. The likelihood of some who has it being out of the house, going to the playground recently, touching the exact area that she licked, transferring virus to the bar and the virus staying viable outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine until she licked it is vanishingly small.

Exposure to some dirt is good for a child. It helps build a healthy and diverse microbiome.
