Just wondering what your putting your LO in at bedtime. Normally it’s a sleepsuits vest and blankets, but I’m finding my ds is getting to warm even with window open and a small van on in our room.
When it’s really hot his in just a nappy and a light blanket which he never keeps on.
Just wondering what other mums are doing.
His asleep now in just a short sleeved vest and pj bottoms and blanket over him.

How old is he? Mine is two and wears pyjamas and a vest underneath, but it's not all that warm here and she doesn't tend to go under the covers at all.

We had some 0.5tog sleeping bags when my DD was little - it's basically like a sheet which worked well when it was hot.

Gro bags of varying togs here , plus pj’s or a vest depending on temp

Purplequalitystreet · 29/07/2020 20:35

Mine is in a babygro (no vest) and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag on most nights.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 29/07/2020 20:35

My 18 week old usually sleeps in a sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. When its really hot I either put him in a vest or just his nappy and a 1 or 0.5 tog sleeping bag.

Do you have a thermometer in the room?

We do the following (approx) with our 17 week old:
20-22 degrees - sleep suit and vest, no blanket
22-25 degrees - sleepsuit only
25 degrees plus - vest only or nappy only

Usually try and cool the room down as much as possible in the evening with window and fan too. Not looking forward to the heat that’s predicted over the next few days!

I tended to use the room temperature/clothing guide that comes free with grobags at that age. We had a really thin 0.5 tog one for high temperatures and she'd be in just that and a nappy. As long as his chest/back doesn't feel too hot to the touch he should be fine. Better too cold than too hot.

Thanks for all the reply’s. I have a but he isn’t keen on it.
With the way the weather is next few day looks like his going to be in just a vest lol.

We have a baby thermometer but it’s plugged in, in the nursery. Will move it into our room. Least that will give me a better idea.

When it's very hot like last night I just put him in a short sleeved vest with his light blanket.
Mostly though have just put him in a sleep suit. Not had to deal with any cold nights yet.
