My baby won’t sleep through the night anymore!

Hi everyone my daughter is five and a half months old and since 8 weeks old has slept through the night. However these last two weeks have been awful with her walk up either crying or rolling around her cot wide awake. I try leaving her when she’s just rolling but she will not settle and go back to sleep unless I pick her up and cuddle her, then she goes off To sleep straight away. Is this normal for babies sleeping through the night to get worse at this age. Tia

Ear ache or teething most likely!

There is such a thing as the 4 month sleep regression. Maybe she is having hers a little later? It's hellish.

Totally normal. Their sleep changes all the time, they have a lot going on.

It will pass, normally only last a few weeks, if that :)

Thank you everyone. She’s always been good at night but clingy in the day and will only sleep on us. As soon as she’s out in her cot in the day she’s wide awake Hmm

It's just she's growing loads right now, especially her brain. Cuddle her, she'll get back to it soon enough....
And I promise nobody ever looks back at baby stage and wish they'd cuddled their munchkins less! Grin

I had that with DS, sleepy drowsy, just nodding off, transfer slowly and gently to cot.... All good...allll gooooos. Head touches pillow and it's 👀👀👀👀👀

There will often be sleep regression but I dont think its right that you can say it happens at month 4,7,14 or whatever. In my experience from speaking to various mums it can happen at any time. It will improve eventually and it might or might not happen again. All I can say is that its completely normal and you will get through it.

Having the same issue OP, slept right through from 8 weeks and now at 7 months she won't sleep through. I am putting it down to teething because her first tooth has popped through so I'm sure the next one will follow soon!

Totally normal. My first slept great for her first 4 months and took over a year to get back to that level. Sleep sadly isn't a linear thing going from rubbish to great in a straight line, the first few years it goes forward and backwards.
