Quarantine

Mums/dads/anyone
I’m looking for advice regarding last nights announcement that anyone returning from Spain has to quarantine for 14 days (no problem with that)
My son has been away with his dad and is coming home in the next day, my question is this.... does my son have to quarantine at his dads for 14 days or if I can get him tested can I have him home? We’re supposed to be going away ourselves as a family on Thursday..

Quarantine means he will have to stay at home for 14 days. It doesn't matter if he gets tested or not. He has to stay at home for 14 days.

I don't think he has to stay at his dads, he can stay with you for those 14 days.

He can come home but must quarantine at home. Be that yours or his dads. Getting tested is irrelevant unless he has symptoms. I don’t think he’s going anywhere on Thursday though Im afraid

I would expect him to stay at his dad's. If you are booked to go away, he can't go with you. And I think if they are all quarantining anyway, it makes sense that they do the work of sorting it out, since they're the ones who wanted to go abroad. But yes, either way, he needs to stay at home.

I think if he's with you under quarantine then you'll have to quarantine too. Theres no point in one person in the house quarantining, and the other members of the household going out and about. If your son is infected but showing no symptoms then its likely he'll pass it to you, and you'll pass it on whilst you're out.
