Stupid question about sterilising

Hello all!

I have a stupid question for you

If you use a cold water steriliser, how long are the bottles sterile for AFTER you’ve taken them out of the steriliser?

I currently use an electric one, then take the bottles out, pop them back together and use within 24 hours.

Is it the same for cold water? I know the solution is good for 24 hours but I need to know how long once they’re out

Thanks! :)

Well I use cold water sterilizing and generally I just take them out and use them as I need them but have heard you can use them for up to 24 hours after being out of the solution. You are supposed to assemble them first though.

I'm not sure about this one. I have a microwave steriliser which says that once the bottles are sterilised they can be used for up to 24 hours but ONLY if the lid is kept on. So don't understand how bottles can be sterile with other machines if they are taken out for 24hours. Also with mine I have to take bottles if I go out anywhere, I can't take the whole steriliser with me to keep them with the lid on Confused

I used cold water steriliser. Most of the time just took out when needed and changed water every 24hrs but otherwise made up with lid on is safe for 24hrs as per other methods of sterilising.

Thanks guys!

I kind of figured it would be 24 hours like other methods. I generally use them as I go but if we are going out for the day etc it’s useful to know! Thanks!
