Did you have this problem with your baby? Hayfever?

Hi. My 7week old baby is chronically blocked up and at times struggling breath comfortably. It's mostly at night and I can hear how blocked up she is and wakes her constantly.

I need to use saline and a snot sucker several times through out the night which completely wakes her up and causes crying. It's been this way for a few weeks.

We have her 8 week appointment next week when I will ask the doctor about it. I mentioned it to the health visitor and she was pretty useless and said keep doing what you're doing.

Don't think it's a cold. Is it just the way she is? Is she allergic to something (we have a dog)? Is something wrong?

Any experience with this? Thanks

Also. Sometimes she gags on mucus running down her throat. Sometimes the snot has a bit of blood in it

Have you tried tilting her crib up a little? A book under the legs can help with blocked nose. Steam is good too - sit in the bathroom with shower on so it goes steamy, you could do this before bed.

I'm not sure about your hayfever query, could be. If it was it should fluctuate with pollen levels.
