Tall toddler bed rails

Hi,

My 1.5-year-old has always been tall and quickly outgrew a travel cot that we put up a few times at the grandparents’ homes. At home he sleeps in a large cot bed which will last him several years. We’ve lowered the mattress so the height of the sides prevents him from climbing over.

But what do we do if we want him looked after by his grandparents or if we take an overnight trip somewhere? He won’t fit in the standard travel cots and he won’t stay in a normal bed, he’ll jump and roll and climb out of it to go play. I’ve seen side bumpers for a single bed but they still leave the bottom of the bed clear.

A lot of travel cots are 100cm long but you can get 120cm ones. We have one that we got when DS outgrew the smaller travel cot but was still in a cot at home (well, a cot bed with the cot bars still up).

I think the one we have is Hauck Dream & Play, we got it from a friend but you can buy it on Amazon.

DS doesn't have the cot bars any more, the cot bed is in toddler bed mode, and for travel we use the Intex Kidz Travel Cot Bed, which is great, but he can obviously get in and out of it. He's older now though.

When I say he won’t fit into a travel cot, he technically will (travel cots are generally around 100cm in length, my LO is just under 90cm) but he’ll be squished in there, and he likes to roll around to get comfy.

@NameChange30 I’ll look into the 120cm cots, thanks. I’ll see how wide they are too.
