5 dirty nappies a day for 7 month old on three small meals a day - too much or about right?

What a lovely topic! Feels like we are constantly changing her, I don’t remember this many with my first. She’s happy enough in herself, but is being investigated for an egg allergy (we have cut it out completely for now).

My first thought was wow my lo has 1 dirty nappy a day but just sometimes 2.

My baby has always been a frequent pooer! She went through a phase of 5 a day when she started really enjoying solid food. Things have calmed a bit now and she’s a 3 poo a day girl. It’s just normal for her. She is also mildly lactose intolerant and if she has too much grated cheese it can set her bowels off. Good thing is she’s never constipated!

7 month old 'owner' here We have 1 sometimes 2 a day. If he did 5 dirty nappies in 1 day I would presume he had an upset stomach or he had reacted to something he had eaten.

It might be normal for her but worth talking to gp about just in case. In the meantime, don't give foods like grapes and raisins and anything else that can cause you to go.

Personally seems too much, I'd definitely say dairy or some sort of allergy. X

Our 8m DD on 3 meals a day will frequently have 3 poos... my GP mother isn't concerned. 5 might be a bit high, but i wouldn't assume doom and gloom. Call your HV?

Thanks all. She’s on gaviscon too which tends to ‘bind’ them doesn’t it, so it would probably be more without. Yeah will call GP it I think and just see. It’s hard to know what to cut out isn’t it, she’s has an allergy referral but could be months and months Until we see someone.

Seems like a lot to me. Three poops was a bad day here, 1-2 was average.
