Children's books about single parent families

I'm looking for recommendations for books about single parent families for young children (age 2.5yrs ish).
My SIL was the victim of domestic violence when my nephew was 4 months old. As a result he doesn't see his father (not because she cut him off but because his father hasn't bothered, despite being given all the details of a contact center).
Anyway, my nephew is now starting to ask about his dad. He always asks her when they see a male "is he my dad". This probably hasn't been helped by her string of boyfriends since but that's another thread.
I wanted to get some books which represent a single mother family where the child doesn't see their father, as opposed to some of the books I have found which say "but daddy still loves you and will see you often" because that isn't the case here.
I'd love to send some books to my nephew so he can learn his family situation is normal for some.
If anyone has any recommendations, please could you leave them here. Thanks very much.

Old, but the Albergs did the “happy families” series, several of which have single parent families. The one about the vet definitely has a single mum, I can’t remember which of the other ones do.

Harry and the Bucket full of dinosaur books are all about a little boy who lives with his mum and grandmother, there’s no mention of his dad anywhere (they don’t make a big thing about it, he’s just not there). Might be nice subliminal messaging....

Love is a Family and Raising you Alone are specifically about single mums.

I don’t know any that explicitly deal with single parents and not having a father, but these books never mention a father, and instead just focus on a child and mum.
