Tell me about your tongue tie experience?

DD 8 weeks has cmpa and reflux.
Prescription formula has helped a lot but she is still being sick like a geyser and suffering with her reflux, worst at night and my heart breaks for her.
Doctor gave gaviscon, no effect other than constipation!

Since birth she has been a bit of a clicky/dribbly feeder and definitely has an upper lip tie as It folds strangely on the bottle. She has a few other things I've seen as an indicator online for tongue tie like a lip blister and half-white tongue but I can never get a look at her actual tongue, I don't think she has one of the really obvious ones?

I'm just wondering if it is actually worth getting it checked and if it could help with her reflux or if it's just not worth it now she's 8 weeks.

In your experience did your baby's tongue tie need fixing? Was it worth it? How did they get diagnosed?

When we were in the hospital we had a range of different views from "wow, that's a big tongue tie" to "I can't see anything, he definitely doesn't have a tongue tie" from one person to the next. Didn't think much of it then mentioned to the Health Visitor at our 3 month appointment that he had suspected tongue tie when he was born and regularly got hiccups and made a clicking noise when drinking and she referred us to a specialist who took one quick look at him and whisked him off to cut the tie! All done in a matter of minutes. I think it's best to see someone as I've heard it can become an issue during weaning and that's it's not as easy if done later. Hope you get it sorted x

Dd had a really obvious tongue tie and her tongue had been pulled back in formation so it dipped in the middle. Breastfeeding was agony (id previously bf her brother) and she was sick like a fountain ALL of the time.

We got it cut at 2 weeks but by then she wouldn't breastfeed hardly at all. The sickness continued for ages after so I don't think it was tongue tie related.

It would absolutely definitely have affected her speech though if we hadn't had it cut.
