Pocket Nappy Stuffing...

I've posted this in another section, which i think was the wrong place! so here it is again! oops!

Sorry, if this is the wrong place, coudnt think where to put it!

I use slinki MInki pocket nappies... ( the best in the world, in my humble opinion

I stuff them with minki super soakers.... trouble is, when i wash them they get SO 'rucked' up they are lumpy and quite bulky when in the nappy...

I wash them at 40, on a normal wash cycle with a pre-wash...

Can anyone advise me of a good way to stop this, or rectify it once it's happened... also, maybe recommend a better stuffing for my nappies... I need them to be as slim as possible as my little lady is quite petite for her age and has a little waist! I know that hemp can be alot more absorbant and therefore slimmer, but not sure which to go for, they're a bit pricey...

Hope someone can offer me some advice!

oh, and if anyone wants to know more about the nappies, i am a recent convert, and really can give you lots of tips and tell you all about them! I dont work for them by the way, although they were such lovely ladies on the phone, it wouldnt be a bad option.

Thanks in advance!

slightly disappointed no response... I'm sure there are some experienced pocket nappy users out there....

I just need to find a slimmer but still absorbant stuffing for my nappies.. they are gorgeous and cute too, but her bottom looks SO huge in relation to the rest of her tiny frame...

She looks a bit like Maca Paca (?sp) from In the night garden

I use fuzzis with a hemp insert and a microfibre one on top - very reliable nd slim.
I used minkis at night with my dd1, but I didn't have any minki super soakers - sorry can't help with that one.

ShrinkingViolet · 30/09/2007 11:34

did you see my reply on your other thread? I used microfibre cloths from the pound shop - absorbency where you need it, and dry incredibly quickly

I have used microfibre cloths as boosters in the past

or prefolds

prefolds are great in minkis

(I am just selling 2 medium minkis should you want em)

Thank you all

Shrinking Violet, i'm not sure ive seen microfibre cloths! What do they look like? If i find some, would i still need any other kind of booster/soaker. Thank you for both your replies!

I'll give the micro fibre a go though if I can find it, sounds good, and cheap too!

thanks again

Sorry - I read it last night but wasn't really with it enough to reply.

I use either fuzzi inserts (several because I use them at night), or some muslins folded.

Minkis ARE huge though whatever you use, even slinkis!

CarGirl · 30/09/2007 15:08

look at the hemp booster available from HempPresto they fold out into a square so are quick drying around £2.50 each - come in 3 different sizes very slim?

I've got large hemparoos but think they will be too long for your dd

Millarkie · 30/09/2007 15:13

I used to use microfibre cloths in minkis.

nappyzone · 30/09/2007 17:47

hiya i only use them on a anight and have never used a minki super soaker - i stuff them with a prefold rolled around a std microfibre insert or ptit dessous bamboo one. I like them too but only for a night - way to bulky for a day for me...

susiecutie · 30/09/2007 20:26

thanks so much everyone!

I chose the mInkis after alt of thought and as they dry so so quickly in our house and also the fleece around the leg elastic has ben a godsend. DD seems tp react to elastic there and gets so sore. She's had no probs since wearing these.

I am on the look out for the micro fibre cloths now, and have Dh looking too!

I like the sound of the hemparoos which fold out flat. i did originally want to use hemp boosters but for some reason, when i ordered, i didnt order them.. to this day i dont know why! fuzzy-no-sleep- brain that day maybe

thanks again
