Almost 4mo suddenly hates bath???

For the past two days my DD has screamed the place down during her bath and I don’t understand it! She has always seemed so happy and relaxed in the bath and I don’t think we have changed anything, except maybe last night her bath was a bit sooner after a feed than usual. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, was it a long term issue or did your LO start liking baths again? Such a shame as I have always looked forward to her baths!

At this age everything is a phase. She'll probably grow out of it soon (and then there will be a new one).

Have you tried having a bath with her?

Yes, it was an absolute pain. He has always loved baths up until 3 months then decided he hated them.
Unfortunately for us it lasted another 3 months so we took to having one bath per week and then using a bowl of water and a flannel the rest of the time.
At 6 months we sat him on the side of the bath and encouraged him to splash which he really enjoyed. After a couple of days of this we slowly popped him in the bath with a vest still on and took it off once he had acclimatised in the water.
It was a pain but he now absolutely loves baths!

@DivGirl no I’ve never tried bathing with her. Would I put her on her little seat and just sit in next to her, or hold her somehow?

@dobbyssoc well good to know we’re not alone! Well done for gradually getting yours interested again; hopefully if it becomes a real issue with our DD she’ll come out the other side too.
