4 month old routine

What is your 4 month old babies routine?

Does this look ok? Baby is formula fed, each feed is 7oz

Wake - 0730
First feed - 0800
Nap - 0900-0930
Feed - 1030
Nap - 1100-1130
Feed - 1300
Nap - 1330-1400
Feed - 1530
Nap - 1600-1630
Last feed - 1800
Bed - 1830

My main worries are that I'm not leaving enough room per feed and also that my baby only has 30 min naps, does anyone else's little one have short naps?

I should add - I don't feed through the night and wondering if that's ok? She doesn't wake up so I hope she's fine but I know lots do a dream feed? I worry that if I do she'll wake up and won't go back down.

My 4 month old only naps for 45mins, so im glad im not the only one! The only daytime 'routine' we have are feeds. So each day will look a little something like this -

0530/0600 - wake
0700 - feed
1000 - feed
1130 - long nap of 1.5hrs (some days!)
1400 - feed
1800 - bedtime feed
2300 - feed

Either side of the long nap there will be 2 or so 45min naps. He'll wake for the 2300 feed so its not a dream feed. Id love him to go right through though!

I offer 7oz and he'll drink anywhere between half and all of it. Im finding typically he'll have less at the 1400 feed.

It looks like your little one is getting enough calories from the day feeds, so I think you're good to not dream feed.

My 4-month-old didn't have a routine; he slept when he was tired and BFed on demand which was around every 2 hours, night and day.

You're very lucky that your DD sleeps through! If she's putting weight on ok, just enjoy the rest Smile

I'm also in the short nap club!! 😂😭 My little boy is 5.5 months old, he naps every 2-2.5 hours and feeds every 3-4 hours anything between 5-7oz (he has tummy troubles bless him) however he does have 1-2 night feeds, if yours is having 7oz each time looks perfectly fine to me without doing night feeds :D x

If she’s sleeping through the night I wouldn’t change anything; she would wake if she’s hungry. My DS goes more like 3-4 hours in the day between feeds but then he feeds through the night so your DD is just fitting her feeds into the day time by going closer together

Thank you so much, you've all really helped.

Don't wake the baby! Seriously, they wake if they're hungry.

The short nap thing is developmental and changes over time. Naps will start to consolidate and you will start to get fewer, longer naps. By 6 months my baby was on 3 predictable naps, which dropped to 2 naps at 8 months. I saw a lot of rapid development after 6 months and it all started getting easier (and more interesting!).

Firstly, at 4 months DS had absolutely no routine. I bottle fed on demand with sometimes 30 mins between feeds and sometimes 2.5 hours between feeds. He cat napped whenever he wanted.

Secondly, stop worrying and over thinking this. Just go with the flow and motherhood will be much more enjoyable.

Yeah mine is waking hourly overnight so Envy

Are you feeding on demand eg when they want and how much they want, so never letting the baby drain the bottle?
