Morning bottle

Hi all,

My 8 month old is not taking her morning bottle. Her last bottle is at 10pm and morning bottle when she wakes up at 5:30 - 6:00 and breakfast at 7 because she drinks very little milk.

This morning she refused again and I gave breakfast first? Egg and cheese and 1 oz formula and I will give her bottle now.

Is this okay to do?

Later in the day she will have a bottle at 1:30 , 5:30 and then last bottle at 10pm. Usually 5 oz

Sounds very normal to me. Most babies drop a milk feed around that time (mine did between 8 and 9 months). They're pretty good at letting you know what they need, especially if they're on a good 3 solid meals per day with plenty of dairy.

If she's having less than 500mls of formula, give her a vitamin supplement (Abidec or Wellbaby etc.).

My DS started refusing his morning bottle around 6-7 months so we dropped his 10pm dream feed and he went through the night and took his morning bottle better. And again at 8 months started dropping milk intake on all bottles until we dropped his 1030am bottle. Since then has taken a morning, afternoon and bedtime bottle in full. You could drop any bottle but I’d drop the 10pm bottle.

@BellaNutella88 thank you so much for the reply.
I tried dropping the 10pm bottle but then she wakes up at 2/3am :/

@BellaNutella88 how many oz does he drink? My LO just about drinks 5oz so we have 4 bottles. If she could drink around 7oz I would do 3 bottles

@Yorkiee ahh I see ! He drinks 7-8 oz each bottle so we can manage it. It’s trial and error isn’t it really. If it’s working for her having little and more though that’s totally fine.

@BellaNutella88 thank you. Formula has been a struggle since birth. she only started drinking 5oz around 6 months. 2 oz up until 3 months. Then 4 oz for a while. Will see how it goes. Thanks again :)
