Anyone else have metallic smelling breastmilk?

I've only read about how that might happen after pumping and storing, but I dont do that. I mean after breastfeeding if there is any on a muslin or near my baby, it smells horribly metallic!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That's strange. Are you taking iron supplements?

BabyLlamaZen · 13/07/2020 12:14

Nope just pregnacare

I’ve been wondering this as my baby vomit / breath / wind smells slightly metallic. I’m also taking pregnancare which I think has iron in it?

Yes sometimes I do. I hate it! Usually noticed after it has soaked through some clothes but once I tasted it and it was metallic and horrible! It’s not all the time though and baby doesn’t seem to care.

I do 🤷‍♀️

CeeceeBloomingdale · 15/07/2020 22:50

Yes I used to, neither child seemed to mind

Is there maybe some blood in your milk?

PinkFondantFancy · 16/07/2020 08:03

Yeah mine used to a bit. The babies didn't mind though!

Hey this is happening to me and I think it's causing my little one (3months old) to have lots of wind/runny poos. Did this resolve? I'm also taking pregnacare so could be something in that? My LO has been more fussy since I noticed the smell on my muslins
