12 week old nappy rash

Hi
My little girl is 12 weeks old and just this last few days started to sleep a lot longer at night (yay!) but since then I’ve noticed she looks a little red between her vulva lips and bum cheeks - I’m guessing the two are linked as usually she has her nappy changed regularly throughout the day and when waking in the night - whereas when’s she’s been asleep for & 8 hours I’ve not changed her till she wakes up!
It’s not really bad but it’s like red where contact between two bits of her meet.
Is it safe to use nappy cream between her Vulva lips as well as bum cheeks?
Is there anything I can do to help prevent this happening?

Yes. Use nappy cream there too! But not the metanium stuff, just sudocrem. Things that don’t sting!

@LouiseTrees ok thanks for the recommendation!
Do you put a little on at every change?

I was so excited that she’s been sleeping more then felt guilty that she looked a red
She’s never had any redness on her bum at all so I’m sure it’s linked to not being changed so much throughout the night.

My dd was the same but I found Bepanthen better on her bits and I tend to pop a little on before she goes to sleep.. Grin

Yeh. I’d wipe it down thoroughly and reapply new cream at each nappy change.

@Zelda93 thanks for the reply and reassurance that it’s not just my little one! Mum guilt is a terrible thing!

@LouiseTrees ok thanks.

I’ve got some Sudocrem so will try that but will look at bepantham if It doesn’t seem to help!

I think I’ve got some of the purple metanium Everyday cream too (not the yellow treatment one) that I got in a trial size free somewhere. Guess some of these things Are trial and error which suits bsby best ?

When you put the cream on the first few times, do it during the day when you are regularly changing her as she may have a little reaction to the cream, doubtful but it may make her bottom a little worse, if in the day you can wash it straight off rather than 8 hours later

You will find a cream suitable for your little one.

Some get on with sudocrem, some dont.
But if you do use it, only use a very thin layer and run it in abit, its very thick

The Blue Bapanthen one is good
