Breastfeeding a 7 month old; tips?!

Hi, can I ask for some advice on feeding a slightly older baby? Ds will be 7 months this weekend and recently only really seems bothered with having proper feeds before he goes to sleep or wakes up! I offer in the day etc of course but he's soooo distracted! Even when I take him upstairs in the quiet sometimes, it's like he just has too much stuff he wants to do. Especially with lockdown easing a bit and us seeing people / going out a bit more. My chap has suggested giving bottles in the day (I guess maybe as he'll be able to look around, maybe he'll feed a bit better?) and just breastfeed at night, but I'm not sure how I feel about it?? Could that work in terms of my supply? It's weird I never planned to feed this long so thought I wouldn't be bothered but I'm just not sure how I feel now?! We give him a bit of water with food or he gets quite raspy afterwards, but he only has a bit. We're thinking of going to 2 (small) meals instead of 1 soon. Overall I think he's getting enough, but taking less in the day, then making up for it at night! Any tips??

Go to a quiet room to feed. Remember to feed before food. Is he teething?

@Lockdownseperation, yes I feed before offering food and I am pretty much only feeding in a quiet room with curtains closed, even then unless he is tired he's still constantly coming off to wriggle or gaze around! I don't think he's teething.... He does drool and put everything in his mouth but that's a constant to be honest abs he doesn't seem distressed or to be tugging his face or ears etc??

Im still feeding 8m DD and have a similarly nosy, wiggly baby! She's on 3 meals a day now, though she doesn't eat loads, but im still feeding her every 3 or 4 hours.

Things that have worked for us....

TV on and her angled towards it, so she can stare at it while feeding
Chunky jingly necklace to play with
Mummy's plait to play with
Rhythmic patting on her bottom and singing
Daddy standing in her eyeline and making faces.

@Somethingorotherorother, thank you! I try the necklace trick, sometimes it works. I'll have to try the telly or our stereo light I think 🙂
