Best baby bottle make?

Looking for a bit of advice as my first born is 10 years old so I feel like there's a lot more makes and styles on the market and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the choice. I've been looking at MAM bottles and tommee tippee. What was everyones personal favourites and have you had any bad experiences with a certain type? I know not all babies will take to all teats, I'm just curious as to what other people used.

This thread is a little old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for the best baby bottles, we’ve recently updated our best baby bottles page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users and their babies. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We used Avent classics because a friend passed on all her bottles to me and they're so damn expensive to buy new! She used them with two of her children so they must be at least 8 years old.

The baby drank from them. I didn't really give it more thought than that.

We started with Avent but the anti colic teats did naff all for DS so we now use mam and are very happy with them.

I dont know if this is 'the best', but we used MAM anti colic ones, and my DD took to them instantly and we never had colic issues. She had a lot of reflux, but never painful colic. Since we always used them I never knew if the lack of colic was because of the bottles or just her, but I found them great. They also self sterilise in the microwave which is handy. We will be using them for DC2 when she arrives in November.

I have been using Tommee Tippee bottles and have no complaints!

Disturbia90 · 08/07/2020 22:10

Originally used tommee tippee bottles but changed to MAM bottles due to colic and we prefer them and continue to use now.

MAM anti colic!

Sooo easy to clean, and little dude had awful reflux but no painful wind!

You can Get a set on amazon which has newborn bottles, bigger bottles and a sippy cup handle and teat converter so you never need buy more!

We use Tommee Tipper with DD (7 months)
We started off with the closer to nature ones and changed to the ant colic ones after a month and have been fine with them ever since

I’m a foster carer and I’d say there isn’t a best bottle - different ones suit different babies. Tommee Tippee are a good all rounder. Mam bottles are good for a lot of feeding issues - slow, colic, reflux. Pound shop bottles are good for cleft palates and motor issues - they are thinner and squeezable and I prefer a cup or 50ml syringes for breastfed expressing babies.

Make sure your bottles fit in your steriliser

RedRumTheHorse · 08/07/2020 22:22

There are no best bottles it depends on your baby.

I tried expensive bottles and ended up with Boots and Asda own brand. It probably was because all the teats of other bottles where too fast flowing and my DD just like the newborn ones as I mixed fed.

Lockdownseperation · 09/07/2020 13:34

Tommy tippee ones are often not liked by babies.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 09/07/2020 13:48

Another vote for Avent Classic bottles. Baby took to them first time so I didnt need to think any further than them.

I would echo others though, different babies like different bottles and there isnt really a best bottle. You could pick the one that seems the most popular though, and hope that that brand works for you.

APurpleSquirrel · 09/07/2020 13:49

Started with Tommee Tippee but switched to MAM Anti-colic self-sterilising ones. Much less faff & DD preferred them. Just used MAM on DS.

2019bride · 09/07/2020 16:16

We started with Tommee Tippee but even their smallest teat was too fast for our DD and she suffered with bad reflux. Changed to MAM bottles and never looked back, I'd always recommend MAM bottles now x

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 09/07/2020 17:08

MAM for sure

DemDem94 · 26/07/2020 11:55

I used tommee tippee to start with but my ds didn’t get on with them so I changed to nuk, and I can’t fault them. Totally recommend them.

thunderthighsohwoe · 26/07/2020 12:00

We liked MAM for the ability to sterilise in a microwave and not have to faff with a steam steriliser. Fussy little refluxer didn’t like the teats though, so we swapped them for Dr Brown teats. I don’t know if this is a thing, teats being interchangeable?

Alderaan · 26/07/2020 12:13

Tommee Tippee are awful.

We used Dr Brown's because DC struggled terribly with wind. Not cheap, but worth it I reckon.
