How to handle this

Ds has been outside playing with other children. He is 8. Apparently he got angry because some girls wouldn't let him in the tree house and elbowed one of the girls in the back. I'm mortified and so disappointed in him. DH took him out to apologise to the girl.
Should I also talk to the girls parents? Ds has been spoken to and is very tearful and apologetic. I have told him under no circumstances is it OK to hurt anybody, especially not a girl. He will stay inside tomorrow.

I'm just not sure about the talking to the girls parents and opening a can of worms?

Imo no need to suggest he treats boys /girls any different..
Good lesson in learning about repercussions of actions.
Don't sweat it too much op.

Just leave it now. He's been told off, he's upset about it. He's little, this stuff happens

No need to overthink it now. Forget about it
