Universal credit and childcare costs

Hi all,
We are sending our 2 year old DS to nursery in a few months. I am aware that universal credit pay up to 85% of childcare costs, me and my partner are on zero hour contracts and wondering if anyone knows if we would still be entitled to help? I am also expecting my second child in November so will be on maternity allowance. Thanks! :)

I'm sure it is dependent on what you actually work, you haven't said?

I forgot to put that our hours are quite inconsistent at the moment

Well then no one can really answer your question. UC will be based month on month on what you are earning.

They pay you in arrears so you input every month how much you have earned and how much your childcare costs are.

You will need to pay the child are costs first and then submit an invoice and proof of payment each month. But your earnings will be checked to see if the childcare costs are acceptable
