What has happened to my boob?

Ok, so, I’m currently breastfeeding my 11 month old DS2. I breastfed DS1 until he was 22 months, when he just stopped nursing one day of his own accord.

A few days ago I noticed my left breast (probably the one that I feed from slightly more frequently) was looking significantly smaller than the right. Today it’s looking even worse. Both are feeling quite soft and squishy but the left feels completely deflated and flat. It’s like it’s just disappeared! DS2 has still been suckling (I basically have to fold it into his mouth). I’m concerned as it’s looking so different to the other one, which still feels round and the skin looks much smoother and plumper. The left is quite stretch marked and now looks wrinkled like the skin on my stomach where my stretch marks are.

There are no lumps and no family history of breast cancer.

Has anyone else had this? Is it normal or do you think I ought to see a doctor? (I have health anxiety so find it hard to judge!)

No, I've not had this but have had breast cancer. All I can say is pretty much everyone you see is really lovely and will be able to set your mind at rest. I'd ring up your GP or even your local breast clinic nurses, if you know the number and say what you've said here. They will tell you if you should halve any further checks.

Thanks for your advice! I’m wondering whether I’ve just forgotten how small my boobs were in the first place, pre-pregnancy and suckling and it looks strange to me now they’re starting to go back.

I think I used to notice, thinking about it, when my breast was full of milk compared to when it was empty. Also I've always had one that was bigger than the other. If you still have midwife appointments you could ask about it then.

Sorry, I mean health visitor appointments.
