Feeling feverish for 3 months after baby

Ever since I've had my baby I've Been feeling feverish,
feeling hot and shivery, warm to touch my temprature ranges from 37.37.5 and sometimes reaches 37.7
I'm having hot sweats, waking up during the night with sweat soaking me, my cheeks always feel really warm to touch?
It comes and goes, some days I feel ok and some I don't, it always comes and goes throughout the day as well
I am waiting on a doctor calling me back has anyone ever experienced anything similar to this?
Just to add I have been feeling really stressed recently, just with the full coronavirus situation

No I haven't but I would be chasing this up ASAP. When I had my baby 18 weeks ago one of the things they told me and my husband upon discharge was to look out for things such as fevers as it can indicate your uterus not returning back to normal. Have you had any checks on your tummy? I know Colin has spoiled everything but I had my baby just before lockdown so baby srill had check ups and they checked my pad for bleeding and my tummy. Sorry don't want to alarm you and hope you feel better soon. X

Have you spoken to your HV? Tbh, 3 months of fever sounds pretty significantly not good. Have you called 111? If you can't get through to a doctor, i might be going to A&E, this could be retained placenta or an infection or similar, though I'm not a doctor

CloeDee · 02/07/2020 17:29

@Jellyonaplate20
I have honestly had no check ups, this is my first baby so I feel completely in the dark with everything, j had gestational diabeties through pregnancy which was supposed to be monitored after birth for 6 weeks by the docs and I never got any checks to see if it's gone, I never even got a 6 week check up and was seen by the midwife once a few days after delivery! I called my docs today and explained, they said it sounds hormonal and going to do blood checks for peace of mind but I'm not really happy with it not being investigated properly, I think I will call my health visitor tomorrow hopefully she might be more helpful x

@theproblemwitheyes
I had a call back from my doctor today who said it's not a cause for concern and may be hormonal? Getting blood test done for peace of mine in 3 weeks, not happy with her response so going to try the HV tomorrow and if I get no further I'll call 111, I just have the feeling somethings not right x

Are you breastfeeding? I had night sweats until I stopped. It's prob a good idea to get your bloods done though.

CloeDee · 02/07/2020 18:04

@AHF1975
I'm doing a combination of breastfeeding and formula feeding, I have just started up my own business so breastfeeding demands fully where really hard for me
I never thought about breastfeeding causing this I will look into it thank you

mastitis can also cause fever. Have you got any lumps or red bits or hot bits on your breasts? It could be this if you're cutting down on breastfeeding.

AHF1975 · 02/07/2020 18:07

Breastfeeding can cause it because it keeps your oestrogen levels low I think- so you kind of end up with menopause type flushes.

AriettyHomily · 02/07/2020 18:09

I don't think 37.7 is even classed as a fever is it?

Puddlelane123 · 02/07/2020 18:09

Could be your thyroid perhaps? Have you had palpitations or weight loss or diarrhoea?

Metallicalover · 02/07/2020 18:24

I would speak to your GP, bypass the health visitor etc, it could be hormonal, sounds like what I had when I was going through IVF when injecting hormones. It was like you have described like menopausal symptoms having sweats etc. You stated you are breastfeeding also so with the low oestrogen it could be causing these symptoms xx

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/07/2020 18:26

My guess was mastitis OO

Keyboard91 · 02/07/2020 18:50

I had this, was picked up in labour. Disappeared when DS was 15 weeks. MW/HV and GP ruled out infection and covid (March baby) and no cause was found so it was put down to hormones. Very strange
