Get one of those ladder-climb-up-to toilet things (Argos extras catalog).
Floor rags... I think Havana might have some going, heehee...

With my dd1 it was a major big deal, with dd2 It just happened. Pretend to him you KNOW he can do it, and dont doubt him or you...Make the hugest fuss over him even sitting on it, and just praise praise praise. Any accidents, just deary me that should have been in the potty, did you miss it..giggle..Good Luck!

snmum · 13/10/2004 14:21

well we just have a pot!

i gave 'cuddles' as rewards it worked too!

hana · 13/10/2004 14:26

dd loved stickers so everytime she went on the potty she 'customized' it with a new sticker.

Racking my brains here cause I've just done it.

Lots and lots of pants, we went through loads in the first few days, and some I just threw away (couldn't bear to scrape the poo out)

I gave chocolate for rewards

I bought Gina Fords book - potty training in 7 days.

lots of kitchen towels (paper rolls) to mop up accidents and make a star chart with a few spare stickers to hand.

throckenholt · 14/10/2004 07:59

moistened loo paper ? We find it more effective for wiping botties !

Also a choice of potty or child toilet seat worked for us - may let them have a hand in chosing them.

I found the porta potty really useful - still do
