Fuzzi Bunz users - an alert regarding tea tree oil

I received this message from the manufacturer of Fuzzi Bunz regarding the use of tea tree oil on their Fuzzi Bunz products which we retail and felt it may be of interest to cloth nappy users.

"tea tree oil can
significantly impact the functionality of our diapers, which causes a
residue build-up that results in leaking and repelling diapers. We
have also learned that tea tree oil can stay on baby's skin and be
transferred to other Fuzzi Bunz, causing the diapers to become
unusable.

you can use a few drops or a sachet of tea tree oil
in your diaper pails on an occasional basis in order to control
odors - but we highly discourage the overuse of tea tree oils"

I knew there was something I wanted to post today!

I used to use tea tree oil in most washes! My fuzzi's seem fine though.

lol - just came on to post the same....

I dont advise it myself - only use in the bin to keep smelling nice. Tis good for knit repelling though !

Tea Tree is a hormone disrupter but never head about it being a prob with boys, more info please , I do know that it can cause very irregular uterine contractions if used in labour

So does that apply to lavender oil too I wonder?

chipmonkey · 28/09/2007 10:23

Hopefully not Sazisi!
