Could this harm baby?

I have just opened the steriliser to give it a clean and found the bottom has rusted.

Can this harm baby? Should I chuck it and get a new one?

I have scrubbed (which I always do anyway every 2/3 days) it although the marks are still there.

Have attached a pic. Hopefully

Is it rusted or is it limescale? If it’s limescale you can’t get specialist cleaners. If it’s rust I would chuck it and get a new one yes.

White vinegar works well

If it was me I'd want to replace that.

It won’t do harm through the steam, i would try cleaning by soaking with white vinegar but if that doesn’t work get a new one. I really wouldn’t worry about it causing harm, it might not be working very well though.

I have a Philips Avent Steam Sterilser and the instruction book says it's normal for that to happen. It has instructions on how to get rid of it using white wine vinegar.
