Potty training

My granddaughter is 2 and a half . She got the hang of using the potty really well and all looked good . However on one occasion she had some discomfort doing a poo . This has caused her to be very reluctant to use the potty and resulted in accidents . Given apple juice and no longer constipated. Usually such a fastidious child is now pooing in her pants with no signs of anxiety. Any ideas please ???

I'd do a few days in the house with no bottoms on and watch her like a hawk. Potentislly messy but woll hopefully take a couple of days for it to click again.
How are her parents doing potty training? You should stick with what they are doing anyway so not to confuse her and cause further anxiety.

I don't have any advice but just want to point out to previous and any subsequent posters that there are many grandparents who are primary carers for their grandchildren as may be the case here?

Very true and she may be asking for a parent who does not have internet access. Until the op clarifies the situation we cant really give much more advice. Knowing what has been done in the past would be really useful.
