Congestion in baby

babychange12 · 29/06/2020 09:28

4 month old DS has always been quite congested, but only in the mornings, even since birth. Every morning he wakes up with the biggest boogers ever, I'm amazed how they even fit in his tiny nose!

He goes to bed ok but then around 6am starts huffing and puffing and gets upset because he wants to feed but his nose is all blocked up. It generally resolves itself within a few hours though

Is it worth trying to get a gp appointment for this? Feel like it's a bit trivial Blush

Any advice on how to deal with this? Ideally I would like to sort it so I don't have to wake up at 6am!

Also to not drip feed I sometimes am the same due to hay fever

Have you tired anything from the pharmacy yet to combat it? They are the first stop before thengp, them or your HV. When my lo was suffering I'd put some on a tissue under her sheet. Worked well.

My DD is like this here's what we do to help. Calpol plug in overnight, humidifier overnight, sterimar decongestant and calpol nose drops at intervals throughout the day, cot at an angle to help the snot drain.
She's still bad with all of that but the doctor said they couldn't help. I'm going to bring her to the salt caves this week and see if it helps. Bless her she chokes on it a lot.

My DS is like that; calpol saline drops sort him out and allow him to feed. I wondered if it was hay fever to be honest.

Ooh never heard of calpol saline drops
Will try them thank you!

Just wanted to come back and say the salt room worked wonders, DD is even feeding way better, I'm planning a course of visits to try and keep the effects going.
