Eye gunk - is this normal?

My baby (9 weeks) gets a small amount of clear gunk on the skin next to one of his eyes every day. It’s coming from his tear duct. Is it normal to have to wipe away a small amount of gunk on a daily basis or could there be something wrong?

Sounds normal to me. Dust in his eyes overnight?

As long as it isn't green or irritating their eyes I wouldn't worry. If it does change then go to the pharmacy, they can help with that sort of thing. Or mention it to the HV.

Sounds pretty normal. As long as it stays clear I don’t think it’s a cause for concern.

Yes. Mine used to get really crusty eyes and the HV told me to use breast milk to clean them!
