8 month old..

Not babbling.. not making sounds.. just the once she said da and ow. Something like that.

Screams now and then. Makes loud noises.

Should I be worrying? FTM

Every baby is different, maybe speak to your health visitor and just see what they say?

My 8 month old makes high pitched shrieking noises, ooh, aah sounds, giggles and blows raspberries. That's about it. He doesn't say ma da ba. I'm not too worried at the moment. They all develop at their own pace.

My DD is the same, nearly 8m. Lots of noise, shrieking and cooing and chatting away, blowing raspberries, responding to her name, but vowel sounds only, not a single consonant. I'm not worried yet. If she isn't managing consonants by 10m i might start getting concerned, but I'm sure I'll be told not to worry til she's 2.

Even at 2 you shouldn't necessarily worry. I've met children who didn't speak at 2 but understood language clearly from around 14 months. When they were nearly 3 they started talking in very clear sentences.

(Oh and when toddlers start talking they don't shut up. )

I have a nearly 10 month old. She: coos, blows raspberries, growls, snorts, smacks her lips and says 'ah' and 'eh'. And that's pretty much it.

I'm not worried (... yet - FTM, give it time 😉). DD seems to be focusing all her development on movement and motor skills over language. It'll happen. Eventually.

My 8mo does say ma da and ba but mostly he just screams angrily 🙃 wouldn't worry about it, my eldest was a late talker and never shuts up now

Yep, my 8 month old doesn't say anything, just blows raspberries!

I'm not worried yet, I seem to remember my eldest DD was late in this respect and I got worried. But she caught up and now she talks so much I can't think straight!
