What is your baby sleeping in tonight?

It’s so hot out there. My baby (8 weeks) is in a nappy and short sleeved vest with a thin cellular blanket on top. I’m wondering if I should lose the blanket.

Windows are closed so outside noise doesn’t disturb baby and we don’t have a fan.

Actually, would you lose the vest as well? Or could baby get too cold in just a nappy?

Vest and nappy. He did have a cellular blanket but I took it off as it’s nearly 30 inside

One is wearing pyjama bottoms, the other is wearing the top. They started out with both pieces but complained.

Ah it’s so difficult. When dd was a baby it was extremely hot (2018) I had a huge swaddling muslin given to me, I used to cover her in that (obviously tucked in all safely).
She’s 2 now and she’s in a short sleeved pj top and super thin, like a sheet, gro bag.

3 week old is in a long sleeve vest and a thin summer swaddle. So hard to know what to put them in in this weather! Something my health visitor said the other week has stuck in my head (and half scared me to death tbh) that a baby that's too cold will wake and cry but a baby that's too hot will just overheat and die.

3 year old is just in shot PJ's but is probably snuggled up under the duvet (thin summer one thankfully).

I think a short sleeve vest and thin blanket is fine btw. If you feel your baby's back or chest, they should be warm but not hot or sweaty.

Forgot to says it's 25 degrees in living room where my baby is.

My 11 week old is in a romper and 0.5 tog sleeping bag. Window open and fan on. Tomorrow night will be hotter here, so I'll probably drop him down to just nappy + sleeping bag. He needs the bag to keep the wriggling to a minimum, though! The gro company have quite a useful chart of different combinations of clothing for different room temperatures, which you may find helpful.

In your situation, I would open the window, tbh.

Short sleeve vest, thin blanket, fan on.

We’ve camped downstairs as it’s several degrees cooler than normal attic bedroom.

Baby was fine overnight but I think I’ll order an electric fan today.
