Wetsuit too warm for 30C at beach?

For a 12 months old:

Would the material of wetsuit make the body overheat in 30C sunny day at beach? Would we be better off to get one made of Polyamide/Nylon/Spandex?

First trip to beach with him. Very nervous!

Think so! What about one if those uv sun suits. Made similar to swimming costume?

Hi OP
Just wondering why you need a wetsuit for him?

Ohlife2020 · 20/06/2020 01:06

@Time2change2, I have no idea! Never got that for my first one. I just happened to come across a nice one on Amazon. But I doubt he would go into water at all, as he can't walk yet. Crawling in seawater probably is not going to end up well.

Will get sun suit instead. Thank you, ladies!

Definitely no wetsuit in 30C air if he's not going to go in the water, he'll boil - they're like wearing a plastic unbreathable extra-thick fleece bodysuit.

Wetsuits are for keeping you warm in cold water, not for hanging around on the beach. They're also not that comfortable to wear when dry.

You can get baby swimsuits that cover up most of the body that would be more appropriate.

Why does he need a wetsuit?

Unless he is going in the water then definitely too hot. Would you sit in a wetsuit when it was 30 degrees. Is it wise going to the beach at all with a young child if it's going to be 30 degrees? You will need to keep him in the shade, keep him covered and a hat on.
