I feel like a different person

Hi all.

My baby is 1 and I wanted to come on here to discuss something I've felt since he was born. Does anyone else feel like a completely different person all together since having their kids?

It's like the person I once was isn't here anymore. All the things I used to do and plan and look forward to I don't do now I have my son, everything revolves around him.

I have also gained a few stone since becoming pregnant that I just can't seem to lose, I'm such a yo-yo dieter and can't seem to stick to anything. Any advice? Tried most diets :(

Xx

It's early days, give it time and the other you will come back. Smile

Yes, I did feel like that though after a year, I had lost the weight (you can too). It's nice being a parent but sometimes it feels as though your life is on hold. Not so much if you go back to work, even part time, which is what I did and felt better for it.

Hey. Aw I feel for you - yes I felt / feel like that, sometimes I look in the mirror and I don’t recognise myself anymore!

Agree with going back to work, that helped.

Yeah the weight is bloody hard to shift - only thing that works for me personally is low carb.

Hi. I agree with the others. I too felt different.

I did feel lost during the first year. Work really helped. I loved not talking about children all day and getting to read a book during the commute etc. I felt slightly more ‘normal’.

I’m also with you on the added stone! I’m just about to force myself to do PE with Joe. You’ll get there.
