and know anything about something called a BMWP system for classifying benthic macroinvertebrates? I am lost in this stupid pissy assignment

Hi, Hope the assignment is/ went okay. I don't know much except that regulatory authorities used Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWP) scores as part of their river invertebrate status classification system for some time.

The BMWP scores were derived largely by expert opinion and reflect the perceived sensitivity of river invertebrate families to organic pollution (Hawkes, 1997).

Searches on google etc. comes up with stuff and journal references.
