Best double pram

Any advice on a double pram for a Newborn and a 2 year old?

Ive been looking at the donkey but keep reading they are quite bulky and a faff in and out the car.

Also looking at the mountain duet.

Quite like the side by side prams, not underneath each other.

Any decent advice on this as it's baffling me!

Hiya - I had a icandy orange double for my newborn and 16 month old but changed over to an out and about double when they got a little older. I am gutted I didn't just get an out and about double originally, I LOVE it.

Can you use the out and about from Newborn?

I have a donkey, which I love. But I actually use it mostly in mono mode with a bugaboo toddler board attached, as the footpaths around my city are relatively narrow.

I don’t mind loading it in and out of my car. It does indeed take up a lot of space though.

I actually love having the side basket. Thought I wouldn’t, which is why I totally ruled out getting a donkey when we only had one child. If I’d known how much I loved my donkey, I would have bought it when I had my first child!

My kids were 2y2m and 1m when I bought it. Have used it now for 1.5y and it’s still our go to everyday pram (we have a few prams).

Have tried pushing my friend’s uppababy vista and it’s so much more difficult to manoeuvre compared to a donkey.

Oh, and my ds1 wasn’t quite ready to use a toddler board until he turned 3ish. He’s not a particularly active/physical child, and he’s very gentle/doesn’t like ‘scary’ things, so I didn’t feel he was ready for it before 3. So we used it in duo mode up till then (but we were living in a different city, where it was easier to get around in duo mode)

Honestly, go Phil and teds. It’s easy to push, easy to get in and out of doors and the only people who think the bottom seat is the booby prize are the people who hand never had kids who fight about wanting to go on the bottom seat. It’s amazing and will do everything you want it to do.

I love my Bugaboo Donkey, it is quite wide and does take up a lot of boot space but is amazing for rough paths etc (we walk a lot!). It’s also brilliant in single mode with the basket for shopping!

I did cheat though, when mine were little I had a Baby jogger city Mini double in the boot for shops etc... easy fold and lies flat for newborn xx
