Nappy rash or allergy?

Hello
My little boy has developed a rash on his bottom, there’s a red (seems quite dry) patch on one inner cheek and a few little spots and a small patch on the other. He’s 10 months old. He doesn’t seem remotely bothered by it, even when I clean it. I change his nappy regularly but I think he did a poo in the night on Friday and I’m wondering if it could be sore from that as he doesn’t wake in the night for feeds anymore?

On Googling it seems like it could also be an allergy to something. Recently started using Aldi Premium nappies and he’s trying new foods. He’s never had an issue before with food and the only thing we’ve given him recently that he hasn’t had before is chard?

He’s never had a rash before so I’m not sure whether I’m just panicking in thinking to call the doctor? I’ve tried metanium and sudocrem over the past two days but it’s made zero difference. Going to try him with his nappy off tomorrow and see if that helps. He is very mobile now (gone from crawling to pulling to stand to almost cruising in less than 2 weeks - and also getting himself from lying to sitting independently) so wondering if it could be friction from moving around so much?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!

Nappy rash in children with allergies is normally caused by diarrhoea and the skin being repeatedly irritated by lots of poos.

Try Drapolene! It ate my sons nappy rash within a few days
