Regression during covid 19

Looking for advice or hopefully someone is in the same boat as me.
Since lockdown I have noticed my 22month old son is regressing with his development. We used to have daily clubs which obviously stopped due to covid.
Thankfully he still has nursery 2 days a week. but his speech is almost non existence now. His tantrums are Oscar winning. I’m stressed in case it’s not due to the lockdown and that he might be showing signs of autism.

How much screens does he watch in a day?

Probably in totally 3 hours max a day x

Have you spoken to the nursery about it? Do they have concerns too?

They said his tantrums can be distressing for the other kids, and that when they try and get him to interact with other kids he has to be persuade quiet a bit x

Does he watch that much screens even when he goes to nursery or only lockdown, because it is an enormous amount. Screen affect not only brain development but also behaviour and social skills.
So cut the screens to zero and replace the screen time - all of it, from the short song on YouTube while brushing teeth to cartoon in car or games on iPad - with a human interaction.
Try three weeks and see if you notice any changes.

@Dawnys86 If the nursery are saying that, and it is still the case once Covid has calmed down a bit, you can always go to your GP or ask your health visitor where he can be referred to. Or the nursery might know who to ask for advice. Don't be afraid to try more than one of those options if you get fobbed off, if you are concerned.
