Tummy time - how?

I’ve done very little tummy time with my LO (who’s now six weeks). I’m not exactly sure how to do it and am worried I will hurt him! Do I literally put him flat on his belly and is it ok to do this on my bed, the sofa or a changing mat? What about his head and arms - how do I position those so as not to hurt him? Confused

I just put my baby down on his play mat or the rug, on his belly. He would just lie with his head to the side, arms sort of angled to the side.

On his playmat. My baby hated it so I bought a tummy time pillow, which makes him like it. Dont buy one though, they're EXACTLY the same as travel pillows.
