2 Week Old...what should I be doing?

Just that really? I'm a first time mum so Im fairly clueless.

What should I be doing in terms of playing with my baby? I cuddle him, kiss him, sing to him & talk to him and he will happily sit with me and look around the room. My partner shows him around the house which he enjoys. Should I be doing anything else to keep my baby entertained? x

If you're keeping your baby alive and yourself sane you're doing a good job!!

You're doing grand! You're doing everything you need to be; keep up the good work.

You're doing brilliantly. Everything you're doing is exactly right. Lots of talking, cuddling and kissing! I used to put on some soft music and dance gently about the room with mine, which they both seemed to like. Reading to him even now is also excellent, and it doesn't matter what you read at this stage. He will just love listening to your voice.

Sounds like you're already doing great, you really don't need to do anything more at this stage.

Thank you so much everyone :) xx

You are doing fine!! At this age they don’t need to play and just need lots of love, food and talking/reading.

I don't think my dd really did much but eat and sleep at 2 weeks old so sounds like you're doing just fine!

congrats on bubba!

Oh god at 2 weeks I was an emtional wreck and constantly having to reassure myself I was doing a good job. I think my baby was just feeding and sleeping a lot.

He became interested in toys at about 5 or so weeks. Hes 10 weeks now and has just started to bat at them (in a very incoordinated way) when hes under his play gym.

Feed and cuddle, and just get on with life with them around really. Enjoy the relative simplicity for now
