DD has just turned 3 and has recently been touching herself. No problem with this normal stage of development except except she can be a bit rough when doing it (pulling herself) and I'm worried she might hurt herself. Other than keeping her hands clean and nails short and trying to distract her, has anyone got any advice? I don't want her to feel shamed in any way, I just don't want her to hurt herself. I've said each time I've noticed her being a bit rough "don't be rough with yourself darling in case you hurt yourself" but it hasnt worked!
