Crawling

7 month old is at the swimming stage - if that makes any sense. We can't seem to move on from there :/ is there any way I can help her?

Just lots of tummy/floor time. I remember getting so frustrated with dc1 as he could get on all fours but not coordinate his hands and legs so just ended up falling back to the floor! He finally cracked it at 11mo and then walked shortly afterwards so hardly crawled anyway. Let them get on with it is my advice; they will figure it out!

The swimming stage is very normal. They go through a number of stages before crawling. Just be patient.

My daughter decided to do a very odd crawl for a while, kind of like one arm and one leg in crawling mode only and on the other side she stuck her leg out rigidly like a boat oar.
It was most peculiar and slightly amusing/frustrating for us to watch but after about two months of that and a little patience from us she ended up bypassing the whole crawling thing and decided walking was better.
Best to let them get on with it as it’s all about learning coordination. She will be ready when her body is ready

@KatnissK thank you for the reply!!! Aw I was hoping she starts crawing sooner! She gets so frustrated! Nothing to do but wait then. And continue with tummy time

My 9 month old won't lie on her tummy or do anything apart from sit, im hoping it comes naturally because no amount of prompting helps

They will do it when they're ready, if they want to. My DD didn't crawl as an infant, she bum shuffled
