Is this normal? He is waking up and screaming.

Mine had this! Midwife said warm water to relieve the gas. My mum said gripe water and mother in law told me to seep fennel seeds in warm water and give to baby. See what works for you. Have you got number of someone to call? I was able to ring midwife Centre till baby was 6 months old. Not sure if that’s all over or just here. Check with her before giving fennel seeds.

I’m sure I got given infacol for one of them at sone point, don’t remember now!

Have you tried massaging baby? Clockwise direction around belly button and sides of tummy

Yeah he takes gripe water. Doesnt seem to be trapped wind. It's when he actually farts. Would massage help with that

Try the massage then call GP or someone tomorrow morning. They’re still open for telephone consultations. Ask about infacol. I know how distressing it is when they’re so little!

Could also be constipation and massage definitely work for that too

I'd definitely run it past your midwife. Have there been any other clues to something, such as rigid, blown up belly or sickness or extra runny, frequent poo - anything which may suggest an intolerance?

I'm getting on now, but I have some intolerances and about five years ago I ate two things I shouldn't, not realising, and the combination meant I had gas up to five minutes apart in intervals, which started to burn me.

It can be quite painful and provoke tears in an adult.

I hope baby is through it soon.
