Toddlers scuffed knees and elbows - always falling over!

My DS2 is a bundle of energy, loves climbing trees in the woods, climbing over sticks and running around. He also is accident prone, falls over all the time, like I'm talking 10+ times a day!
With the recent heat his little arms and legs from wearing shorts and tshirts are all scuffed, scratched and bruised. He doesnt ever say it hurts when he falls over, he just stands back up and says im ok! and runs off again.
Other than wearing long sleeve tshirts and trousers how can i encourage him to stop falling over all the time?

Are his shoes a good fit? Sometimes the first sign they need new shoes is that they keep falling over!

Apart from telling him to be careful there isn't too much you can do really. The good thing is he's learning from all these falls and will likely be more physically proficient later on. They do need to fall to learn their limits and get their balance.

Surely the recent heat is even more reason to cover up? Hotter weather = long sleeves and trousers!

Maybe get shorts in a bigger size or fit so they are longer and cover his knees a bit?
