Waking baby to feed

I just wanted to see if anyone actually does this?? My girl is now 4 weeks and I haven't been doing this as she wakes every few hours during the day and usually between 3-5 hours during the night anyway.

Hows her weight?

Laurenpudney · 31/05/2020 13:08

When she was born she was 6 pound 6 she then was 7 pound 1 on the 2 week check up but she hasn't been weighed since then because of coronavirus and they also aren't doing the 5/6 week check ups but when she's feeding she's having a lot!

I was also going to ask this today... I feed my baby (2 weeks) at 11/12 midnight...and he wakes up at about 3:45-4am for his nappy changing and a feed. He usually sleeps until about 5:30/6:00 then I will feed him again. I dont wake him...am I meant to be?!

My rule of thumb is that if the baby is over 7lbs and is gaining weight and has lots of wet nappies, then dont wake them to feed at night (after 10pm or before 7am) and then if they can get through from a 10pm to 7am feed in one go, start moving that feed earlier by 15 mins every 3 days until its at 8.30pm

I would wake to feed at least 4 hourly during the day until they are 6 months ish
