Pace feeding

Hi all my baby is a week old and so far she’s been feeding fine (bottle) she was guzzling a bit and sometimes being a little bit sick but nothing too bad - but she was feeding well, a decent amount and every three hours or so. The hospital feeding team called and asked if we’d looked into pace feeding so read up, watched some YouTube videos and have been giving it a go - she definitely doesn’t guzzle it as much but because the pace feeding slows her down she tends to not have as much and then needs a sleep. Then she’s hungry again about an hour later so has the rest (or some more of what’s left) but now this means we’re not having to that three hour gap and sometimes she wants feeding every hour now? So won’t this be detrimental for when it’s time to get into an actual routine? Does anyone have much experience with pace feeding? I’d be grateful for any advice! Thanks in advance Smile x

The idea of paced feeding is that it mimics breastfeeding and it is very usual that breastfed babies feed more frequently. Especially as newborn. No need to worry, just be led by your baby a hunger cues
