Hello there

I'm quite new to MN and happy to find this thread as my DS will be 1 on Sunday too. It seems incredible a whole year has gone by and at the moment I seem to constantly be remembering 'this time last year' which actually seems like another lifetime.

My DS is just starting to try to walk and he already looks like a 'little boy' and not my baby. Dreading how sentimental I will feel on Sunday!!! At least we are having his party on Saturday so only DH to make a fool of myself in front of!

Happy Birthday to them all!

Hi Lesle - I'm quite new to mn too, Jamie has been walking for 2 months now so you are in for fun the next few months i can tell you. I am remembering last year a lot too, keep thinking this time last year i was still pregnant, and now look at him he's a little boy now and no longer a baby. Jamie's party is on Sunday. Happy birthday to your little boy.

Hi All

Spod and Jamiesmum - how did it go?

We had a really lovely weekend with our one year old boy, Jackson (how strange does that sound?!) Believe it or not we had a barbeque on Saturday with a few friends around and a quieter day yesterday with just the three of us and my parents. He got loads of fab presents including a trike and lots of wooden jigsaws. We indulged him and bought a huge cuddly dog - no educational value whatsoever but it was worth it to watch Jackson trying to wrestle him.

The biggest amazement of all was that I managed to get through the entire weekend without blubbing and the freakiest thing was me and DH writing "mom and dad" on the card and it being us! (iykwim)

Hope you all had a lovely time with your little ones too.

Lesle xxx

we had a great weekend... party with dd's friends on saturday, which was so much fun. On her birthday we went to a farm with some family and out to lunch. The whole weekend was fantastic! She was given so many lovely gifts... bath toys, a trike, books, a picnic set, skittles, a drum, a ride-on, ducks, a play farm.... so many new things, and she was delighted by every single one! She laughed and smiled all weekend! Glad you all had a great time too... still cannot believe i am the mum of a one year old.

Hi,
just found this thread. Wish I had known about mn when pregnant last year. Two weeks late and enormous - not my idea of fun!
Anyway good to read all about your little ones. My ds was 1 on the 30th Oct. He is doing all the same sort of stuff as your little ones! We got him a pull along dog (which is very noisy) and some mega blocks.

Although this week he has started to have little tantrums and throw himself on the floor if I take something away from him. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Didn't think they started this till 2!
