Baby rash ... anything I can do to prevent this?

My newborn has broken out in this rash. She's breast fed with a nipple shield as she's premature and bottles fed with express milk at night (Dr Brown bottles). Is it the shield causing this? Anything I can do to prevent this or improve it? Please see photo attached. It looks better in the photo. It's actually a lot worse.
Thanks.

Does it go away when you press it? Is she hot or irritable? Are her cries different? These are just some things to keep in mind.

It actually looks like baby acne to me. My son had it from about 2 weeks and it cleared up at about 8 weeks.

I would say it’s baby acne too.

It looks like baby acne. All babies have it. Usually around 3-4 weeks. It will go away in a couple weeks. Very normal. It’s just to do with hormonal fluctuations after birth.

Yes agree looks like baby acne. Health visitor here suggested cotton wool with a little breast milk rubbed on, not sure it made much difference but cleared up in a couple of weeks.

Congratulations she is absolutely adorable.

I remember the baby acne phase. It does go away after a bit.

Baby acne! Very unsightly but harmless and disappears

attillathenun · 28/05/2020 17:31

Looks like baby acne to me too. I found putting a bit of breast milk on it helped

Lou573 · 28/05/2020 17:33

Another one to say baby acne, both mine had it.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 28/05/2020 17:34

She is so sweet, congratulations. It really does look like baby acne, very common, hormone related, clears up on it's own. Enjoy all those lovely snuggles!

OccasionalNachos · 28/05/2020 17:36

Ahh, baby acne Smile it looks dreadful but clears up on its own.

mamalicious3030 · 28/05/2020 23:32

Thanks everyone. I will try breast milk. It just looks so angry and sore.

I dont think it bothers them to be honest. I agree its not the most pleasant to look at though!
