Strong smelling wee nappies- normal?

My ten month old DD has got quite strong smelling wee nappies. Is this normal? Sometimes it’s quite strong even after I’ve just put a fresh nappy on her, though it’s not bad smelling, just a strong smell of fresh wee.

A quick internet search says this is normal for this age but I’m just worried about a possible urine infection, but I don’t want to have to take her to the doctor if I’m worrying about nothing!

I can’t say when I first noticed it but it probably started a little while after we started weaning. She drinks plenty of water at meal times and still has plenty of breast milk, plenty of wet nappies and she is changed very regularly. She’s really happy and content, I’ve not noticed her straining or looking uncomfortable at all. We’re using Pampers nappy pants at the moment- I’m not sure if the type of nappy would make a difference?

Has anyone experienced this?

We never got on with Lidl nappies. I know everybody raves about them but I felt as soon as we put one on baby smelt of wee and within 5 minutes of nappy being on it felt hot even if it wasn’t wet. We haven’t had this issue with any other brand. Maybe try a different brand?
